I watched this movie with Kate (11) even though it's rated PG-13. We liked it-- it is a sad movie at times, but it is overall really good and the acting was very good. The story is not necessarily true, but it's "based on" actual events. It is set in the late 70s, so for those of you who remember that era, this is especially fun... I was raised in the 80s, but I could still appreciate the fashion!

For a PG-13, this wasn't bad. I thought it could've been a PG rating, actually. (There was some 'making out', club scenes, mild language, and kids smoking ciggies--- but it was all mild and in context of the story.)

Thanks for the review. I've been dying to see this movie. My youngest is named Gracie and this movie actually premiered on her birthday! Not to mention she plays soccer. Unfortunately, even if it was appropriate for my 3 and 6 year old, it probably wouldn't hold their interest since it's not animated. But I'll definitely be renting it soon!

It was filmed where I live, which made it extra fun to watch. I think it would be great to watch with my 10 yo neice.
