  • Igby Goes Down

I saw Igby Goes Down this past weekend. It was really good. It's a dark comedy so if you like movies like Royal Tennenbaums, you'd like this. It has Kieran Culkin, Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes, Ryan Phillipe, Jeff Goldblum, Amanda Peet, Bill Pullman...a great cast and really good acting.

The basic story is that Igby is a teenager (17) and is the black sheep of a rich family. A family that's defunctional. Igby runs away from going to yet another school his mother gets him into and ends up in NYC and meets Claire Danes, Amanda Peet and has some crazy relationships established.

Let me know if any of you see it!

I really liked the movie but thought it was dark and somewhat depressing. But I always like movies in New York because that's where I grew up.

I took my resident husband and it was a little too much for him, although in general he doesn't like artsy movies and I do.
