Golden Compass

I thought it was fine, but a kids' movie. :huh:

DH loved it! He was all mad that the story ended when it did, and now he wants the books, too. (Father's Day!! I could not think of a thing to get him that he would actually want.) I think it has something to do with the kid in him that read The Hobbit until he had it memorized.

Having read the Narnia books (all of them, lots of times) when I was little, and only having seen the Golden Compass movie, I can't give a fair comparison between Mrs. Coulter & the White Witch. (I can't even remember whether I liked the Narnia movie or not.) After I read the GC books that I'm getting "for DH" I'll let you know who could kick whose butt!
