    Zack and Miri

    I was definitely disappointed after watching this. I was looking forward to it since it was Kevin Smiths movie, but I found it rather vulgar and not-funny. There were some parts that were funny...but for the most part, I didn't enjoy the movie. It was nothing like watching 40 yr old virgin or knocked up.

    anyone else see it?

    We went to see this one tonight and since I went into the theater thinking it wasn't going to be very good I didn't end up being disappointed. It was fairly entertaining and kept my attention but there were few "laugh out loud"-moments. The gross-out scenes felt contrived and I agree that Kevin Smith was obviously trying too hard with this one. Overall it was an okay movie but nothing to get excited about.

      Ditto. Dh thought it was weird to see this movie with his relatives. I guess this makes up for having seen 40 Year Old Virgin with my parents...

        I got to see an advance screening of this at a local film festival so I hadn't heard much about it at the time. I think that really helps - for example I didn't really enjoy Shrek much after hearing that it was the best thing ever for months on end.

        Anyway, I laughed my ass off throughout Zack and Miri! I really enjoyed it and found the characters very sweet and their reactions, despite being in some crazy situations, to be pretty relatable. Maybe you have to be in the right mood to see it but I loved it.

        Funny side-story, when the film was being shipped up here for the show, they were worried about it crossing the border with the title "Zack and Miri make a Porno" so its code-name was "Spaceman", and that's how they declared it at customs!

          DH and I are watching it right now and have been cracking up through the whole movie. But, we are total geeks and have dirty minds anyway, so this is right up our alley.
