help me out...I can't recall the name

of a film i saw last year on cable...starz or hbo...anyhoo here are some reminders for those that may have seen it:

Flying cats that talk & ape-birds (picture a birds head & wings on a silver-back's body),a teenage girl (whose family runs a circus or works in one) and a harlequin dude that helps her in her search for a key...she ends up in a waay out there fantastical realm and is mistaken for the princess of some creepy queen...does any of this ring a bell???

Um....maybe Starlight? Or something like that? We saw the first twenty minutes or so. Michelle Pfeiffer as an evil witch queen...and a search for a key. Maybe it was Stardust. Yeah. Stardust.

I just looked up the film you mentioned...the film I'm talking about makes the one you mentioned look like a Dsiney movie.

Stardust is way better than a Disney movie; it's based on a book by Neil Gaiman, and he had a lot of input on the screenplay, too. It has Robert DeNiro in drag, too!

Somehow, I didn't think that was it. It also only came out this last year. No idea at all what the movie you saw was, though, sorry!

Oh! Yes, I can see how that would match what you said. Yeah, you kinda need to appreciate Dave McKean's art and Neil's storytelling to really like that movie, I think. I thought it was good, but I knew what it was going in.
