    Re: Slumdog Millionaire

I can think of two parts that made me squeamish. Not really a spoiler alert but...don't read it if you don't want to know.

At the very beginning of the movie, there is a torture scene in the police department.

About mid-way through, at the "camp" for the children who beg, the people in charge blind one of the children because his singing has reached a certain level (he brings in more begging being blind and singing).

I actually gagged more at the outhouse scene than either of those, but according to IMDB, it was actually a combination of peanut butter and chocolate -- so you can feel good about it.

(Obviously I knew it wasn't real, but the mental image was disturbing).

My first thought was of the outhouse scene when you mentioned that you were squeamish. Sure, there's violence throughout the movie, but maybe I've become desensitized.

The blinding was what I was thinking of.

Both the blinding and the outhouse made me feel sick.

Thanks for the warnings! I think I will wait until it comes to DVD, that way I can fast forward and skip ahead!

On a happier note, I think Freida Pinto is absolutly radiant and hope her next movie is a hit!
