Adaptation: everyone was amazing in this movie. Nicolas Cage and Meryl Streep specifically. This one's from the writer of "Being John Malkovich" and if you appreciate a twisted story, you should see this. It's funny too...although in a dark way. I really liked it! It's basically about Charlie Kaufman (the writer) who's hired to adapt a book into a screenplay and the craziness that follows.

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: Another one from Charles Kaufman (same writer as above movie) and another twisted and great story about Chuck Barris, a game show host by day, CIA agent by night. Really liked it and also has dark moments.

About a Boy: Rented this last night and thought it was really cute. I love Nick Hornby (this is based on his book) so I was interested in seeing this. Basically Hugh Grant attempts to pick up women by pretending he has a son. It's really clever.

We just saw Adaptation last night. I really enjoyed it and definitely have to agree that the acting was amazing. Nicholas Cage is sooooo good, playing two different characters (the brothers Charles and Donald Kaufman). It was one of those movies that kind of sucks you in and you sit there at the end going, "ummm, what was THAT all about?"

I would recommend this to anyone, but be warned, it's kind of a quietly wierd movie, too.

I'm so brain dead! I was reading those reviews and thought it was one entire movie called "Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, About a Boy". It sounded like a really bizarre movie until I got to the end and realized you were reviewing 3 different movies. :coffee
