Luanne, I hate to dissent and be a party pooper, but I have to respectfully give this movie an alternate review.

I love both Goldie and Susan. Moreover, the underlying theme of balancing youthful freedom and passion with the necessity of growing into a mature, responsible, higher-evolved adult is an incredibly timely and relevant topic. However, I felt like this movie never really got off the ground and felt sort of gimmicky. I normally love chick flicks but I couldn't get into this one. On a side note, it was a refreshing change to see Goldie play a character with some "texture" in her background instead of one of her more syrupy sweet characters.

I actually agree with you!!! I'm glad Ididn't pay $$$ at the theater, but I loved the music, and I laughed. It was shallow with good music and slapstick humor, but I think I needed to laugh and this did it for me.

You know, Luanne, I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I think that I like a book or move more depending on my mood or how receptive I am. I thought about this post and wondered why I didn't like this movie when I thought that the equally fluffy "Sweet Home Alabama" was entertaining and cute. I think that I was more relaxed and unencumbered when I saw it.

LOL, I agree, There have been times (I'm actually admitting this) when I have rented a movie and Jory gets stuck at the hospital and I hate the movie. It has nothing to with the movie, but I am pissed at him. I can watch it again, in a better mood, and I like it!!

I thought it was cute. Not anything serious or life altering, but entertaining.
