Anyone plan on seeing this? I read about it on CNN. It had me until Mariah Carey was mentioned as a cast member. I guess it's her break out role. And Monique, I believe, plays the girls mother....and does a fantastic job.
I just don't know if I can sit through something that emotional...in public, anyways....

I'm definitely going to see this sooner rather than later. The review I read said Mariah Carey wasn't half bad.

    Supposedly it's generating Oscar buzz.

Husband and I have agreed that I will get to go see it one evening this week (since the days of that kind of possibility are coming to an end for a while). Apparently Mariah Carey does not suck in it.

It looks good on the preview. I will probably be waiting until it comes out on video like I do for most movies.

I'm staying away. I don't have the emotional reserve to deal with traumatic/disturbing stories these days. We saw "Couples Retreat" yesterday because it was the only thing showing that was neither animated or distressing.

I just read the book, called Push. I dont do well with the graphic violence in movies, for some reason I can stomach it better in a book.

ooohhh...i'll have to check out the book. i don't do well with the graphic "in your face" images either. it keeps me from watching certain things...like documentaries.

I probably won't see it because truthfully, it's a little too much like going to work.
