Don't hold me to this spelling of Evelyn, but I think this is it... We rented it last night and I really thought it was a neat story. It's based on a true story, set in Ireland (although scenery is not a big feature of the movie) and tells the story of a man who fights the system to regain custody of his kids from "church and state". I liked it, but then again I am no movie critic and if I'm not bored watching a film, I generally will approve of it! I just thought this movie was interesting when compared to our modern system of family court here in the US. This movie stars Pierce Brosnan and has Julianna Maguiles (??? from ER a few seasons back until she moved to Seattle to live with George Clooney in a ridiculously expensive houseboat house that I know there is no way his character could've afforded in "real life" especially since every season that he was in Chicago with the other ER people he was living in a bachelor pad and always complaining of being broke b/c he was still paying back student loans).

I just saw this on showtime (I think) yesterday.

It's a great story. Of course, Pierce Brosnan is never hard to look at, and since he really is Irish, he has a beautiful brogue! (among other things)

I poured myself a stout and sat and bawled my eyes out, while my husband studied. Definitely worth a look.
