The critics haven't been kind to this movie and I had no real desire to see it until a couple of friends went and said they loved it. Russ and I saw it yesterday. It is a fun movie with lots of action, romance and comedy. Johnny Depp is an incredible actor and is hilarious in this. Of course, Orlando Bloom (Legolas from Lord of the Rings) is adorable. There are some funny scenes that they have taken from the Disneyland ride. It is a little cheesy in places but it was my kind of light entertainment.

Kid factor: My kids would love this movie but it is scary and my younger kids would probably have nightmares. There is no swearing or sex-related scenes. So ... I won't let my younger kids watch it until they are older. But ... I was pleasantly surprised.

We saw it last night and we loved it!

There were some really funny parts to the movie...where even Russ laughed out loud. There were some suspensful parts too.

Eventhough it was 2 and a half hours long, I wanted it to keep going....and we saw it at 10:30 at night! (our bedtime is usually 10 )

There's even a little "end scene" after the credits...totally sets it up for a sequel....although there was a part at the end of the movie that set it up for a sequel as well....

We saw the preview for the Haunted Mansion...Disney's out of ideas I guess and is running through their rides?!?! What's next? It's a Small World the movie?

I got dragged to see this one this weekend and ended up really liking it. (Somehow my boyfriend always ends up choosing the movies we see, but in all fairness, I always end up holding the remote at home, so I guess it works out.) It's a big swashbuckler and could have been totally cheesy, but somehow they did a really good job with it and made it not-quite-over-the-top, so it's exciting and entertaining.

We watched this last night and really liked it. My in-laws insisted that we rent it when they found out we hadn't seen it.....I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but ended up liking it WAY more than I thought I would.....definitely rent this, you will like it. I heard that Johnny Depp modeled himself after Keith Richards for this role....I could see the influence.

I was really surprised but we both liked this one. I think Johnny Depp was fab- but then I've thought that since 21 Jump Street!!

I also liked the costumes in this and was hoping that they wouldhave been nominated for an Oscar- but no.
