Looking for a good laugh? Rent The In-Laws!
I was a little hesitant to see this because I love the original In-Laws with Peter Falk and Alan Arkin. Happily, my favorite scene from the original ("serpentine!") was left out of the re-make, which is different in many regards.
Not surprisingly, Albert Brooks and Michael Douglas are a perfect fit for their roles. The bride and groom are rather...bland and un-noticable....as they should be. The focus of the movie is on the relationship between Albert Brooks and Michael Douglas' characters and the situations that develop between them. Candice Bergen has a nice role as the MOG. The ending is a little predictable but the comedy along the way makes that easy to overlook.
