I really liked this movie, though I think I appreciated it more after having read the book. Kate Hudson plays an American girl who goes to France to help her sister who is expecting her second child, only to find that her sister's husband has just left her. The movie very closely follows the book, though there are certainl story lines that are left out (I think if they had been included the movie would have been too complicated and difficult to follow). There were a handful of other famous actors in the movie, including Glenn Close, Matt Modine, Stockard Channing, and Bebe Neuworth (sp?). Also, the ending is tied up a little neater in the book where everything kind of "works out" in the end, which is different from the book's ending. I'd recommend the movie, I *think* my husband would have even enjoyed it, since it didn't really seem like a "chick flick" per se.
