We rented this over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. I can't say the same for DH, I would say that he tolerated it. It's definitely a chick flick, it follows 8 (I think) different storylines during Christmas-time in Britain. The ensemble cast includes Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Alan Rickman, and Emma Thompson. Each of the storylines has to do with finding love (obviously), and it's very sweet and uplifting and will leave you feeling happy in the end. I highly recommend it, I thought it was wonderful.

Love Actually
I thought this was really cute--too many storylines maybe, but lots of fun. Emma Thompson is (as always) outstanding as the middle aged wife losing her husband (Alan Rickman, also great) to his predatory secretary. Her crushing disappointment/realization scene ripped my heart out. The DVD's extras were good too--some of the deleted scenes were the movie's best, like a long scene with Emma and her son, and another about the life of the headmistress of the kid's school.

Just to offer another point of view....I thought this movie was awful. It was at least 20-30 minutes too long, sickly sweet, and contrived.
There were two storylines that sort of redeemed the over 2 hours I spent watching it: the writer and Portuguese woman and the part Ahava mentioned re: emma thompson.
