    Shrek 2

    We didn't see Shrek 1 but very much liked this one. The cast is great (inludes Antonio Banderas and Rupert Everett), lots of funny movie parodies (the Mission Impossible one is my favorite) and fairy tale parodies too. And the songs were well chosen.

    Very sweet storyline with Princess Fiona and her Ogre husband going home to meet her parents for the first time. Of course, they object to his "ogreness" and Shrek tries to 'change' to be the prince he thinks she wants and her parents would approve of.

    Highly recommended and lots of fun.

    We are very excited about going to see this one next week sometime.....I am holding it out as and "end-of-school" reward, since DH is on call this weekend and unwilling to pay for a movie he might be paged out of. We really liked the first one. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.....now I'm looking forward to seeing it even more.

      I LOVED it! The animation is much better than the first and it's very funny. Still very original--doesn't feel stale like some sequels do.

          Since this is coming out on DVD soon...

          I loved this movie. I was cracking up, laughing out loud. Frankly, I thought it was even better than the first one. Puss in Boots was great, as were all the parodies. Enjoyable for the whole family.

            We bought it the day it came out, it was a big hit here!!

            Puss in Boots is hilarious!...isn't that just like a cat, those big sad eyes...

              I love that Puss in Boots character! Funny story....after we saw this in the theatre, my oldest son would refer to that character, but would pronounce "puss" like the stuff that comes out of an infection. He did it unknowingly and even after we would correct him (always laughing hysterically -- what a mental picture!) he had the hardest time pronouncing it correctly.

                On that note, this anecdote will take this thread way off course.....but it is kind of funny.

                My son was kind of a Thomas the Tank Engine nut and one of the characters is named "Percy". In the height of his Thomas mania, he lost his "Percy" trains and would cry that he wanted his "Pucy". My husband and I just about fell over ourselves laughing after we left the room.

                What were we talking about? Shrek?
