Has anyone seen this one? DH and I saw it over the weekend. He liked it, I did not. Its about two men and two women who are all kind of in this love square. Everyone's lives are intertwined, and someone is always loving or longing for someone else.

I thought it was kind of long, lacked a climax (haha, thats kind of funny after seeing the movie), and then just ended with everyone being unhappy. There was a lot of good acting, but I guess I didn't like it because it left me thinking "thats it?". I'm surprised its been on Top 10 lists and such. Maybe its just one you have to be in the mood for. DH said its 'art' and that is why its good.

Saw it. Thought it was lame. Which is too bad, because I like the four actors in it and find them compelling on screen, but I thought the movie was boringly shallow. The four characters cheat and betray over and over, but the movie doesn't offer any insight about it (despite lots of talking) or seem to have any emotion about it (despite lots of shouting and tears). I didn't feel I was given a reason to care about any of the characters.

I think in a lot of other movies they have characters who do inexcusable things (like Monster or American Beauty) and the movie leads you understand the character, if not condone them. This movie had none of that--the theme seemed to be "People cheat because they suck." And what kind of insight is that? I didn't feel that I learned anything about the way people's minds work or the way the world is from this movie.

Thanks for the reviews; I was curious to see it because I like the cast, but it sounds like I wouldn't like it.

Just saw this and thought it was so-so. By the end of it, I was kind of sick of the characters. Guess Jude Law didn't learn much from his role.
