Shall we Dance

Saw this last night on the airplane from California.

Not bad. Rick would have slit his wrists watching it but it's ok for a chick flick. Richard Gere, like a fine wine, is improving with age. (although I may be biased since my first R movie was "American Gigolo" in 8th grade.)

Jennifer Lopez- well, what can you say. Luckily she didn't really talk a whole lot. Susan Sarandon- underutilized in the film.

It got a little long in the middle, but all in all, I'd give it 2.5 stars on a 5 star scale. If you're stuck inside in a snowstorm, you won't be too upset.

We didn't see the J Lo-Richard Gere version of this movie so I can't comment on it, but we did see the original Japanese movie that this was based on and I would highly recommend seeing that one. We saw it quite a few years ago (can't remember exactly), but I remember really liking it.

So true! I never really liked Richard Gere before, but now that he has some silver in his hair....

I'm with Jane-- I didn't see the new one, but I really liked the original Japanese movie.
