So my DH is a huge fan so we went to see this on Friday night. It was okay. Of course it was very dark because of the turn of Anakin to Vader. I thought some of the emotional scenes were a little too much and I thought some of the "background" was a little too busy in scenes where the dialogue was key. But all in all it was a traditional Star Wars movie and now I'm ready for it to come out on DVD so that I can watch all six in order!

Vadar's "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" was so much more macho than Luke's.
Makes me see r2 and Chewbaca in a different light.
They could have compressed Episodes I and II into a half hour flashback intro and I would have been just as satisfied. The transformation was what we wanted to see.

Ok, we finally saw this over the weekend and thought it was ... all right. I haven't seen all of them (just watched "The Empire Strikes Back" a couple of weeks ago, never saw "The Return of the Jedi"), but DH said this was his second favorite Star Wars movie (after "Empire"). Some of the dialogue seemed like it was written by a 12-year-old, and we agreed that Anakin's transformation to the dark side was less than convincing. I mean, he was confused ... he was conflicted ... he didn't know who/what to believe or trust in ... and then all of a sudden - just like that - he was evil. I just thought it was lame.
I guess if you're a true "Star Wars" fan you're going to go and see this anyway. If you're just mildly curious, I'd probably recommend that you wait until it comes out on video.~Jane
