  • Fun with Dick and Jane

DH and I went over the weekend and we both had a mixed reaction. I am curious to hear what others have to say. It was not really a comedy, but not really cutting edge enough to cut a clear political/social statement. There were several moments where I thought "wow, that's really not funny, but I can't tell if it is offensive or not." Example: border crossing.

That's exactly what the reviewer for the Post said- they wimped out on making a sociological statement and/or wimped out on making an actual cynical comedy.

We just saw this a couple of days ago, I just took it as a basic Jim Carrey movie and thought it was a mindless comedy. I guess I didn't realize that I was supposed to be offended by some parts (maybe I'm not PC enough? ), because I just laughed at a lot of it.
