We watched this 1993 re-make of the classic and it was very good! It was over 3 hours long, so we had to watch it over the course of 2 evenings, but my girls (age 4 and 6) were absolutely riveted. My 6 year old even cried a few times, and I teared up a little as well. As you can imagine, the scenery is absolutely beautiful. It was a really wonderful movie to watch as a family, and dh and I seemed to be just as into it as the girls were. Jane Seymour and Jason Robards were the only familiar actors in it (to me anyway).

Aaw, it sounds like a great movie. I might have to add that to my que because I remember that the book was one of my favorites when I was little. One of my other favorites was (and still is) Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. They made a movie out of it in 1994 and it's pretty true to the book. You and your girls might like it.Cristina
