WHy why why why did we see this movie when we only get to see about one a year? It was the only one that started at 8, which was when we finally got there. Peter jackson has a serious ego to let it run on for 3.5 hours. Two thumbs down.

That's too bad you were disappointed. I loved it and thought it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. Peter Jackson is the new Spielberg!

We watched this last night and thought it was ok. It was a bit long, we thought it could have been about 30 minutes shorter (by the end I was like, "Just fall off the building already!" ) Other than the length, we both it was pretty good. Not great, but good.

We finally watched this last night...urg, probably 50% of that movie could have been cut out and it would have been fine. Very, overly long and I couldn't suspend my disbelief for much of it. I did enjoy the special effects though. That's the best I can say about it.

for the first 1/2 i kept saying "where's the monkey?", for the 2nd 1/2 I was alternately grossed out (huge bugs, kong ripping dino's tounge out) & mildly entertained. DH loved it.

agreed ... fall off the building. and please .. the ice "skating" scene??

It was pretty long, a little too long IMO. It was interesting to see Jack Black step outside of his normal cooky roles, I thought he did a pretty good job. If you have a phobia about any kind of insect or other critter, there will be parts that totally gross you out--they seemed to take every creepy creature and make them not only larger but about 10 times more disgusting.

We were so bored by the middle of it, we just fast forwarded for a while and then shipped it back without even finishing. The whole Jurasic Park sequence was just too much, among other things. Bleh.
