The Prize Winner of Defiance, OH

This was a really good chick flick, although truth be told, my husband liked it, too.

Julianne Moore plays a mom of 10 who throught the 50s and early 60s basically kept her family fed and housed on her winnings from those contests that they used to have. Woody Harrelson plays her drunkard husband.

and it was a true story.

It's a great book, too. I haven't seen the movie yet but want to. I was bummed when it did so poorly at the box office.

Good movie. It made me re-think all the complaining about medical training though. :> She carried on with a sunny dispostition in the bleakest of times.
