  • Little Miss Sunshine

OK. Understand that we see only 1 or 2 movies a year. So last night was DW b-day, so I scared up a couple of local 12 year olds to babysit, and we saw this movie.
It's about a really messed up family - a drug addicted grandfather, broke dad, existentially misanthropic adolescent, suicidal uncle, and a little girl who's competing in this beauty contest.
Very entertaining, and it actually has a pretty happy ending, with the moral being, be happy just being yourself.
I give it four stars out of five.

Good to know! A friend saw it over the weekend so I'll have to ask her opinion.

Our SO's share the same birthday!

My brother and I appreciated so much of this movie because, I swear they stole much of our childhood and put it in a script...including push-starting a car in the desert between AZ and CA...before I was able to drive myself...that is just the start of the list. I liked their family better...and it was a delightful movie.

DH and I saw it this weekend and thought it was really fun. Steve Carell and Greg Kinnear were great in this movie as well.

OMG! I LOVED this movie. I saw it twice, once with a friend and then I made DF see it. I highly reccommend this movie!

                    WHAT A GREAT MOVIE!!!

We laughed the whole way through and as soon as it was finished, SO looked at me and said, "I wish we could watch it again!"
We were howling through the whole thing and people were all clapping throughout (even though there were only about 20 of us there). I can't wait for it to come out on video so I can buy it!!!

Obviously, I'm behind the times! SO and I both say "come out on video/tape" What can I say, I'm an old soul.

I watched this last night and my stomach still hurts from laughing, specifically the scene where they get pulled over.

                              Loved, loved, loved it.

What an awesome story and talk about perfect casting! I can't think of anyone else who could play the father or the uncle characters.

                              or any of them, really.
