  • Babette's Feast

I'm sure that I posted this elsewhere but, the mind is a mysterious thing-

Anyway, this is a version of hell for my husband which is why I watched it during naptime on Sunday while my beloved spouse was out studying.

Period piece, foreign film, about a religious colony in Denmark...

No really, despite the above, it was a great movie- it's the story of these two sisters- daughters of a religious man who found a very austere colony on the coast of Denmark. They end up with a French Maid and it's her story as well.

It won a bunch of awards and they were deserved. If you like food or you like foreign films, see this.

So, my parents rented this right when it came out...I felt pretty tortured then. It is a joke now between my brother and me. I have seen it once more since and...still not a huge fan, but, if this aesthetic is appealing, it is an interesting story and well made film.

DW is not into foreign films at all, but even she enjoyed this movie. I loved it too.
