Finding a new artist you really like is kind of like finding a new author you love. Anyway I just discovered Elliott Smith - I bought From a Basement on the Hill, and it's been on constant repeat in the car (when the kids aren't there - there's a few f-bombs). I just ordered XO.
Amazing singer songwriter. Jon Brion produced the CD I have now, which might be why I love it so much.
We'll see how the next one sits.

    Thanks! I'll check it out!

I'm completely addicted to the Hamilton soundtrack right now. Fortunately the kids haven't caught on to the curse words in it yet. I'm also loving "New Americana" by Halsey. I need to buy a few more of her songs. I liked several when I clicked through them on iTunes.

I think there's a biopic about him coming out soon? I never really got into him before... I actually had From A Basement On A Hill back in college and frankly never really listened to it. But I think his sound and style is very "current" now despite the music being 20 years old. I would definitely enjoy giving him another listen.

He's a good one for sure. I had one of his albums on repeat for years... Don't remember which one, it was a burned CD!

I still go back to Counting Crows. Guilty pleasure. And Cat Power. But nicely her covers.
