  • Why is there no ER thread!?

I have nothing to contribute! We're probably a series behind or something over here. I also would try not to read a thread if there was one as it would ruin surprises! But, I'm just curious, am I the only one that loves it??
Maybe it is losing popularity or just not on in the US at the moment.

That's weird. I could've sworn there was an ER thread because I posted something about it a while ago.

I'm several seasons behind because I'm watching it on DVD and they're being released very slowly.

Actually last year, and especially this year have been critically hailed as quite possibly the best ER has ever been. Their viewership is up.
I have only caught bits and pieces of ER this year.
The only shows I ever watch entire seasons of these days are Sopranos , Big Love and Real Time...can't wait for the final season of Tony & the crew to start. I'm dying to see how Bill and his outed harem deal in the upcoming season of BL....sorry to hijack!

I stopped watching ER about 3 years ago. I'd love to come back if it's gotten good again -- but I don't know any of the characters anymore. That's a problem. You get in to those shows because you like the characters.

Is it available for download anywhere - or do you have to wait for the DVD releases to catch up?

I'd love it if it was released on iTunes or some other similar program. Unfortunately I have to either buy or rent the DVDs as they come out. The sixth season just came out right before Christmas.

Apparently netflix is going "instant ",in that you will be able to watch on line, what you order. If it's on DVD and they list it I guess you'd be able to catch up on it that way, whenever it is they begin this new service.

We have watched ER since the beginning and have seen every episode, I think. The first year of the show coincided with DH's first (actually, I think it was the second) year of med school, and now it is almost a sentimental thing for us to watch......a link to our younger selves or something.

I would agree that this year is the best it has been in the past several years. The addition of John Stamos was a great move, and the Indian actress (from Bend it Like Beckham) Parminder Nagra (or something like that) is really good, too.

I will be sad when it goes off the air!

Ok thats good I'm not the only one then!
I only started watching it last season, or maybe the season before. I want to start at the beginning with the dvd's so I can get the backgrounds on some of the characters that have been around a while.
For now I have the rest of season 13 to enjoy!

I don't like it anymore. I just keep thinking "That ER needs better security!"

They lost me when they became "ER:Africa" DH and I still joke about it. I don't know why they had to go do all that missionary stuff. It totally changed the show - and not in a good way.

I also don't like what happened with Luka. Loved him, then.....not so much. His character got tooooo dramatic to be believed.

Still, I give them credit for shaking things up instead of just letting it go sour and stale.

Loyal fan from the 1st episode. However, Grey's anatomy has taken over as my fav. show.

I only got into ER in the past few years, before that Thursday nights were reserved for going out. It does feel that lately they've been running out of material.

I hung around until Carter took off. I used to work w/a guy who looked like Noah Wyle. That was fun.
