this may be the season where Jack really falls apart...

I thought the show was *great*. I always do though...

        Re: Lost

Could be Ben. It would explain why no one was at the funeral. He grew up on the island so he didn't know anyone off the island.

I assume that Sawyer is still alive too and that he is the person Kate has to get back to when she leaves Jack at the airport. I need to rewatch that episode but I also assume they have a kid together.

I'm thinking since it was in an all black neighborhood, it could be Walt. Micheal is back this season....

I guess it should be Ben in the coffin, since he was "neither friend nor family"...

But then Ben may be too obvious for the show. Anyway, it's gonna all be explained...

            in the last episode ever.

Does anyone know how many episodes were taped before the writer's strike? This could be painful.

                  Re: Lost

I heard today - on my Lost podcast - that they may be able to film up to 6 more if the strike ends in the next two weeks. And.....it looks like it will!! I'm so happy! I think the word on the street is that the regular TV season will be extended till end of June to get in what's been missed. With Lost, they may condense the story to finish in 14 episodes this season instead of 16. Or....who cares. As long as we get more than eight, I'm happy.

I like the idea of Ben because he wouldn't have anyone at the funeral. Of course, it could still be anyone because we have lots of time to find out that someone dissed everyone on the island before they returned. I wonder if the person in the coffin was Oceanic 6? I'd think the news item would have been bigger.

                    Re: Lost

Who did Jack call when he was driving all drunk and suicidal, after he'd read the obituary? He said he was sorry-- at the time I thought it was to someone who knew the departed person... But I suppose it could have been to someone to apologize for jumping-- like a suicide note.

I have been thinking about this a little, and I think that we won't have to wait too long to find out who's in the coffin, b/c I bet the Oceanic 6 is going to go back to the island to rectify whatever it is they left there--and so maybe it will be revealed earlier than the series finale...

I think I'm going to stop trying to figure out what's going on and just enjoy the ride...

Yeah....best plan is to just watch and see.

The podcast guys that have seen the first four episodes already clain that things move along swiftly this season with lots of answers/new mysteries in each episode. I think the writers are motivated because they lost viewers for dragging the plot last season -- and because the show ENDS in three seasons. It's time to start telling the rest of the story.

                        Re: Lost

Ok, forgive me, but my liberal arts background is taking over for a minute! haha! When Jack walked into the funeral home the funeral director/worker was carrying a small vase of roses that he placed in the room. If I remember right there was no other flowers. I think it's a little hint that the person in the coffin is Rose. I just finished re watching my season 1 DVDs of Lost. There was a big strong bond between Rose and Jack. There was a big thing when Jack tells Rose everything will be ok on the plane. And then later on she tries to tell him that she is letting him off the hook. But he won't let that go... he wants to protect her anyways. He had an investment in that relationship even tho she isn't always on each and every ep. My vote: Rose. And if that's true then I WILL cry like a baby because I really like Rose!!

Other reasons: I don’t think Rose had much family or children. I think if she got off the island her cancer would come back. Plus Jack seemed very upset. If it isn’t Rose it’s someone he cared about. I wonder if we’ll find out soon??????????

                          Re: Lost

Nice theory, moonlight! It was an African-American neighborhood. I know that Rose didn't want to leave the island originally - so she could stay healthy. I wonder why she changed her mind at the end. Sh hated Locke that much? Or she just forgot about the troubles she faced in the "real" world?

Interesting idea. I don't think we will find out soon. I think they may string us along for many episodes with the coffin. The flash forwards will probably play out some story line with an eventual answer. I hope it isn't as prolonged as the "Why is Locke in a wheelchair?" business. That took forever.

Oy! I loved it too. Not the best ever, but I do think they are starting to wrap up loose ends (Desmond and Penny) and answer mysteries. My favorite romantic moment was when Sawyer went out of the helicopter. He's back in my Top 5 list. So romantic.

The Ben character is just so cool. You love him, you hate him....just can't figure him out.
