    Re: Lost

Why is Locke called "Jeremy Bentham"?

    I've always loved Sawyer.

      Re: Lost

It's got to be an anagram - or a reference to something. I bet it was highly googled today.

        Re: Lost

DH was on the computer while I was watching Lost-- I told him to get over to the blogger sites about Lost and figure out who Jeremy was! (That was at the start of the show...) He just rolled his eyes... I like to wait until they spell it all out for me, anyway...

Another 1800s philosopher type. Interesting concept for a prison called a Penservator or something like that -- a space in which the prisoners are under the impression that they are observed, but can not see their observer. That sounds like something Dharma would dream up. Of course, he was also a contemporary of Locke and a proponent of Utilitarianism.

Lost is such a learning experience.

On my anagram search, I turned up this combination: Jeremy Bentham = MY THREE MEN JAB. If the JAB was J.A.B., it could be John (Locke), Ben, and Aaron. Aaron is obviously central to this story, but I haven't any idea how. Of course...I used to think Walt was as well, but he seems to have become a minor player in the mystery.
