  • TAL on Showtime

We just switched to Showtime (cheap promo rate), and tonight I watched an On Demand episode of This American Life. The premier episode of season 2 focused on a man who as a degenerative disease, is confined to a wheelchair/bed and has lost his ability to speak. He's asked what he would like his voice to sound like if he could talk, and he says "Johnny Depp or Edward Norton, because either way, I'd be a badass."

For the rest of the program, Mike's emails or entries (he can type w/this thumb) are read by Johnny Depp, which I thought was super-cool.

I'm going to enjoy working through the TAL episodes I've missed.

Netflix, yay! I'll go add it there. I can't pony up for Showtime. I hate how much we pay for cable as it is. I reserve the right to change my mind about HBO if Flight of the Conchords has another season.

don't. just keep getting it on netflix. TAL & Weeds are the ONLY worthwhile things on Showtime.

We have Apple TV and both TAL and Flight of the Conchords have been available through iTunes purchase. Do you think you could buy the episodes online? A season pass at around $20 is a lot cheaper than a season's worth of cable with the subscription fee. (And if you are just looking for an episode, they are usually only 1.99)
