I really enjoyed parts of the episode, but I thought it ended kinda awkwardly. I feel like the underlying story line is getting choppy. I also thought the Warblers wewre really good and I enjoyed that aspect of the episode and story line.

I thought this week was a good start at a return-to-form in terms of the focus on the competition and the Kurt subplot, but I thought the Beiste subplot was a little meh

I was wondering when this was going to come up but I didn't want to spoil it for anyone. I thought the music was sort of boring this time. But the Kurt storyline. . . well, that kiss bothered me. Not because it was a "gay" kiss. But because it seemed more like an assault than a kiss. It was violent. How degrading and confusing for his first kiss to be with someone that routinely beats him up and in that context. I was very upset for him. I also thought that Beiste's first kiss was disappointing for her since it was a pity kiss from a friend and not the gateway to a relationship like she hoped.

I thought that too initially about the Beiste kiss, but Russ interpreted it not as a pity kiss but as a you're a good person and here see it's not a big deal, move forward and find love. Also, Schu wasn't pretending it was amorous. It was just a kiss.

I think Kurt's first kiss was supposed to be disturbing for that reason. But yeah, I totally agree that Bieste and Schu kiss was even worse than no kiss if you ask me!

            EDIT:

Yeah - that was the entire point of the kiss between the jock and Kurt. I liked the episode. Shue wasn't the self-involved freak he's been the past few episodes, Kurt was AMAZING, and Rachel didn't have enough screen time to pull out her porn-star lips. More importantly, the bloggers at Project Runway thought it was great -- not from a great TV perspective, but from a helping-gay-teens perspective. I figure they know a whole lot more about what will help than I do, so I'll take their word for it. http://tomandlorenzo2.blogspot.com/2...en-kissed.html

I think it was super awesome because they highlighted everyone. They really gave time to the other characters and let them show their stuff which was fantastic. They went back to the whole, this is glee club, lets have a the show be about the glee club. I really enjoyed getting to see everyone perform. Dude that Brittany can dance. Also, totally didn't realize that Sue was not in the episode until the previews for next week. lol.

I enjoyed it, but didn't LOVE it. There were really no laugh out loud moments - for me.

MrsPotts - what show choir?? I was in a show choir in OH as well! I lived in Marion and was in the Harding Singers (back when Andy Haines did the choreography). I love that Glee is set in Ohio - it's perfect!

MrsPotts - my dad lives in SE Ohio, too. Salesville? Near Cambridge.

I grew up in Cleveland. I wasn't in Show Choir (I can't dance), but was in the music & theater dept., so I have the same kind of love.
