Does anyone watch this TV series? I really like Chef Gordon Ramsay because of all the good he's done on this show. The first episode of season four, "Blackberry's", was really good. I recommend watching it!

I can't watch these anymore, but I do watch his "The F Word" on BBCA. KN and Hell's Kitchen bug me, but "The F Word" is clever and funny.

It's a combination of the people being raging morons and the premise being a little too formulaic for mh tastes. I just can't wrap my head around ANY restauranteur who wouldn't be gracious and thankful to have a triple Michelin-starred chef even deign to visit their little dumps, much less try to help them. And sooooo many of the people are clueless how to run any business, not to mention a restaurant.

I used to watch Hell's Kitchen all the time, but the cheftestants all began to run together. I think it was when I realized that I know more about food than most of them that I just couldn't watch it anymore.

I think that's why I love it. The people have all kinds of problems that get in the way of their own success and Chef Ramsay is like the plumber that identifies the problem and unplugs the blockage. I didn't used to like how he confronted them and broke them down but you have to go through the muck to get to the beautiful part and really appreciate how much he's helped them. My favorite part is the reveal of the new design of the place and everyone's joy.

Every episode this season has been really touching too like the Grandma in the Soul Food place who invested her entire life savings and wants to see her daughter succeed, and the Mom that ran the best Italian eatery for 18 years before she went in a coma for two years and her son managed the place into failure. Then there is the son who was partners with his dad who died and he was just heartbroken and driven to drinking to drown his sorrows and his two college age daughters seeing his struggle and rooting for their hero to get well. I love how Chef Ramsay helps families to heal and then their businesses can get well again and thrive and better their community.

I also enjoy the revisiting episodes where he goes back to some of these places and sees how they've done. I'm sad when he gives people all the tools for success and then they can't get over their own issues and the business closes.

It sort of falls into the same category as Bridezillas for me...I'm not sure how believable a lot of it is. I once met a girl who was going to be on bridezillas while I was planning my wedding and she was actually pretty nice. Watching the episode was fun, though!

One of the KN episodes was shot at a restaurant literally a mile away from our house. Being in a college town with a HUGE national following, restauranteurs have to be complete idiots to not make a buck, particularly during football and basketball seasons.

The place went out of business within 6 months of the episode airing.

You all made me curious, so I watched two episodes of the UK series. I honestly don't understand why he has the reputation he has. He seems pretty reasonable to me, save for the swearing, but the Brits are on a whole different level of swearing, so he fits right in.

I'll watch the Brit version of KN over the US one, but I still prefer "The F Word" over both. See if you can catch a couple eps of it. He seems very different on FW than he does on other shows. Very reasonable, nice, clever, and quick.

I like Master Chef. It's like HK in that it's a competition, only it has a bigger focus on technique. He takes non-professional cooks (usually a mix of SAHPs, servers/hostesses, and people from other professional backgrounds like attorneys and engineers) who cook as a hobby.

I haven't seen the british versions or some of the other ones mentioned but I have seen Hell's Kitchen.
