  • What is in your queue?

I just signed up for Netflix and I have Amazon prime. (Buh-bye cable!)

I'm binge watching The Good Wife. Let's just say that this show is AMAZING and I identify with ASPECTS of it. (Not all...don't read too far into it).

Also, the kids and I LOVE the Netflix original series Lemony Snickers a Series of Unfortunate Events. So good. Bonus education tip: The subtitles help burgeoning readers gain in fluency AND this series specifically embeds vocabulary. LOL.

Help me craft my next binge.

    What are you watching?
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

I binge watch Orange is the New Black every time a new season comes out. I really want to do the same with House of Cards but in today's political climate I can't get into it.

Grim, Sleepy Hollow (my current binge) The Vikings (double love!! strong female leaders), Scandal

You'll flove The Affair. It's the same story told from four different perspectives and interpretations. The scenes are reenacted according to that persons interpretation of what happened. It's amazing writing and really gets into the psych of the characters.

I can usually tell immediately from the opening theme how much I'm going to click with a series. Clearly I'm drawn to dark and moody. These are my favorite opening themes...

The Crown is great. I loved Homeland when we first discovered it because I got to binge watch 3 seasons, but now I have to wait for a new episode each week and that sucks. My other favorite right now is Big Little Lies on HBO Go.

We've been watching that Blacklist which is good but can be violent. I just make sure I'm also multitasking so I can do that if it's too violent.

                    YES Vikings is sooooo good.

                    Amazon:
                    Vikings
                    Taboo
                    Shameless (also on Netflix)
                    Masters of Sex
                    Transparent
                    Billions
                    Atlanta

I also have to put in a plug for HBO Go. There are some really excellent dramas:
                    The Night Of
                    Divorce
                    Game of Thrones,
                    Awkward
                    Girls
                    Westworld

I'll buy a month subscription of an add on subscription like Showtime whenever I need to catch up on a show. Right now I'm holding out as long as I can while Homeland and Billions run. Then I can pay $8.99 to watch both seasons and cancel the subscription again.

                      Another vote for Billions, too.
Last year I got really into Catastrophe on Amazon, sort of a dark comedy about a couple that gets pregnant from a one night stand. Very British. Season 3 is coming out later this year.

We have amazon prime but have not yet gotten Netflix or Hulu. I don't have much time for TV but I loved Z (the Zelda Fitzgerald series) and Transparent. We are slowly watching Grimm now. I've watched mostly movies: Selma, Behind the Candelabra....

Documentaries and supremely British things populate a large chunk of my queue. Human Planet, Abstract: the Art of Design, Tales by Light. The Crown is amaaaaazing, I'm pining for season 2. Poldark on Amazon. I've heard good things about Black Mirror but haven't started it yet myself.

Loved Catastrophe too! I also enjoyed Transparent and The Americans. Poldark is good, along with a number of the other Masterpiece shows if you haven't already watched them (Downton Abbey, Sherlock, Victoria).
