I've just discovered Season 1 on Showtime on Demand. DH and I watched several episodes last night. It's hillarious - and dramatic at the same time. I plan to tune in for season 2.

We LOVE Weeds. It's a great show and is so dead on in satirizing suburbia.

We LOVE this show too. So far I love everything about it, the actors, the storyline. Hoping this will last.

I really don't like where this season has gone. I'll keep watching b/c there are occasional really funny lines - but in general I don't like it.

            Re: Weeds

I am resurrecting this thread, because I just finished watching seasons 1,2 and part of 3 and now I just watched season 1 with my hubby. Unlike my sister who loves the show and has no kids, both my husband and I were a little disturbed by what the kids on the show are exposed to. Anyone else feel the same way ?

              Re: Weeds

LOVE LOVE LOVE the show and the spot-on commentary on suburbia.

Not being a parent I can't completely understand how it might feel from that point of view, but I think parents underestimate what kids are exposed to on their own...

                Re: Weeds

I don't think what those kids are exposed to is in any way different that what I was exposed to in the "Planned Community Suburbian Hell". Where did everyone smoke pot? On the golf course... Where did everyone drink Boone's Farm? On the bike paths. Where did everyone have make-out sessions (or more)? In everyone else's house when they're parents were at work.

LOVE Weeds!!! So funny. Definitely my kind of humor. DH and I have it on Netflix since we don't have Showtime...there are some days I long to live in Aggrestic over NYC

                    Re: Weeds

I am probably not being clear. My concern is for the child actors in the show, more than their actual characters. I think it's different when kids take the initiative to get involved with stuff, a totally different thing when parents or older adults expose the kids. I do remember that age and yeah I saw porn when I was like in 3rd grade. But making a child pick up a book full of sexual positions or exposing them to the idea that you go to a massage parlor for a hand job. Yuck. The long term effects of early and often exposure to sex is not healthy.
