With the exception of the girl's meltdown at the end, it wasn't TOO bad by Bachelor standards. But I personally found it embarrassing that they were going completely out of their way to impress him. I think that if a girl does push-ups, bakes a cake, sings the Star Spangled Banner, or does cartwheels just to get some attention, she's probably just a teeeeeeeny tiny bit weird.

It wasn't *just* a cartwheel. It was a back handspring. Sheesh Cristina. :> Give credit where credit's due.

Don't stone me for saying this, but he doesn't sound intelligent. He sounds a little... slow. If I didn't know one thing about him, I'd never guess he was a highly educated individual. I know that impressions can be deceiving and obviously he's a very bright individual, but that doesn't come through in the way he acts and talks.

And, see!! This is why you have to watch on MUTE, people!

Also, it is fun to see all the women say, and HE's A Doctor, *swoon*, and I might be a doctor's wife!

You know who they should have on that show instead?

Rob Marciano, the CNN weather guy.

A military doctor's wife, no less. Good luck with that!

Yeah, it's a really glamourous lifestyle...

OK- I will concede that they look really good in the wedding pictures.

So I just finished watching the Bachelor. I missed the first one--was last week the first one? This episode was pretty good. It was long, though.

I like the gal he is most infatuated with--the one from S. Carolina. She is very bubbly. I thought it was weird how he chose one of the two blondes in the red dress to give a rose to--and not the other one. The girls didn't look too happy to be made to do the workout routine.

                  What did others think?

I'm disappointed that Alexis went home. She's "gorgeous" (one of his favorite words apparently), smart, and she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. My theory is that he was put off by the fact that she had been engaged before, but I actually admire her for having the strength to not go through with it if she felt the marriage might not last. Can you tell I'm not his biggest fan?

                      Was Alexis the lawyer?

My favorite is the S. Carolina gal, though she has definitely overplucked her eyebrows.

I also liked the med student. What was up with her saying that men are turned off by her ambition? I thought that was kind of odd, seeing as the bachelor himself is a Dr.

Yes, Alexis was the lawyer. My second and better theory is that she's too tall for him and he couldn't overlook that.

I understand what the med student meant by men being put off by her ambition, but I don't think it was a good idea for her to share that with the bachelor. Whether or not he'll really be able to accept a woman whose career is important to her is irrelevant. He certainly mentioned many times how impressed he was by all those career oriented women and she shouldn't have apologized for posessing a quality he claimed to value. It also sounded like a very awkward self compliment.

I think he really hit it off with Amber, the one that won the mini triathalon. I can't see the one he went on the one on one being the one he picks in the end.

My favorite quote from the last episode...

"So... have you ever dated a dawkter?"

"No? Well... what do you think?"

My favorite quote from the preview for next week...

[girl hurts her knee, someone comes over and asks if he's a medic]

                              "No, I'm a.. dawkter."

                              [transition to confessional scene]

"I just hate the idea of someone being hurt. I'm a healer. I'm a doctor."

                              Asshat.

I took the first question to mean that he's concerned the girls don't know what they're getting themselves into. It doesn't appear they have any clue whatsoever. His next question was about dating a guy in the military, also not something most people are used to. I personally don't think this will be much an issue since I predict that the relationship won't last long enough to be affected by medical or military issues.
