A big jeer from me. Who honestly thinks that the BCS system works?

There has to be some kind of small playoff system, IMO for football to remotely be able to actually crown a national champion. I agree, this year, that USC is the No.1 team, but who should play them for that title? I know it is early in the season, but smaller conferences, non-BCS conferences, and independents should get the chance to play for a national title.

I hate that BYU (Utah's rival) is the best hope for that this year, but 103-0 in the last two games is pretty telling. I can't in good concience root for BYU, but I do like to see the Mountain West conference doing well, and further, the PAC-10, Big East, and ACC really sucking.

There are 6 currently ranked non-BCS teams. SIX! 3 of them are in the Mountain West conference. Air Force barely lost to Utah this week, but had a chance to crack into the top 25 as well. Ball State and Tulsa are not ranked, even though they are undefeated.

Anyway, go Utes!! Bust the BCS!

Nope - no way is the BCS perfect. There should be some playoff system but I'm not sure how that would work. Was it Boise that got left out a few years ago when they were undefeated and then they killed Oklahoma in their bowl game proving they could run with the big dogs?

This year will be interesting because there are also conferences like the SEC and the Big 12 that have multiple teams in the top 15 but if you don't win your conference you can't go onto the national championship so then some conferences are at a disadvantage b/c they play a conference championship game and others don't.

I don't know what the answer is but yes there needs to be something different. But didn't the BCS just get extended for several more years.

I'm not a huge fan of the BCS either because the Big 10 is always a tough conference, but because it is mostly a running game up here it doesn't compete against the SEC stats-wise. Not that we actually get to play them. I'm sick of playing small, no-name schools for non-conference play and would really like to see us duke it out against somebody like the SEC.
