  • Week 5...College Football

Well I guess there will be a new number 1 come Monday. I think USC's loss only shows their attitude, they lost to Stanford last year b/c they got cocky and they just did it again.

I think Mizzou is going to have the same problem at some point this year, I guess we'll see.

KU is off this week so good luck to everyone else.

LOVE IT! I am sure that SC will still pull it out. They lost to Stanford and UCLA last year and still came out tops.

oceanchild, it has nothing to do with you personally. I have a very good friend that went to USC.

The PLAYERS of teams with continued success get cocky and overlook "lesser" teams. If there is no hunger in a team they lose.

Oy, I hate this argument so much. Is it just because it's a private school? What exactly did I do to become a spoiled child, by going to a solid university that offered me a full tuition scholarship?

Anyway, I stayed up way past my bedtime to watch my stupid football team once again forget that they have to get through an entire season and not just the big games. We got beat. Plain and simple.
Total hijack. Julia, I feel for you because I would be really disappointed if any of my kids wanted to go to USC. For me, it's not the whole university of spoiled children thing. I just firmly believe that CA's public university system [UC not CSU] is so much better. Academically the only things SC is known for is film,MBA, and maybe some art history. I heard their MBA program is going down in terms of tops as well; Cal and UCLA top them. Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, and Davis are just better all around schools. Which to me public schools being great is way more impressive than private schools with their uber private funding. DH didn't even apply there and they offered him a 20k/year scholarship. For me I would hope that being a top football program isn't a determining factor when my kids pick a university.

Back to football... I am sure that the trojans will do just fine this season.

                    Re: Week 5...College Football

and speaking of small extremely expensive liberal arts colleges:

WESTMINSTER, Md. – T.J. Develin (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) contributed 134 of McDaniel’s 193 total yards in a 20-13 victory over Dickinson in Centennial Conference (CC) football action on Saturday.

(my tuition was $8900 my freshman year and $24k by my senior year. and that was 20 years ago. Holy crap- I just pulled this off their website: $39,630 a year for on-campus $35,980 a year for off campus. I barely MAKE that much money)

Bama is ranked #2 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stars: :stars: :stars: :stars:

I just hope they can hold onto that.We still have to play LSU, and then Auburn.

                            My teams...
                            Bama 4-0
                            Vanderbilt 3-0
Titans 4-0 (will be this afternoon, and not SEC but thrown in here anyway)

Ahhh, it's a good year so far. KNOCKING ON WOOD...

Kelly- we had to buy the Time-Warner SEC Football package this fall. We couldn't get any of our games up here. We love us some SEC football too. We (me, dh when he's here, and ds) whoop and holler in front of the tv every weekend. I would say that our next door neighbors probably think we're crazy, but they do the same thing for Ohio State.
