    Anyone watching the playoffs?

I cannot believe the Cubs! I feel so very bad for the Cubs fans and I have my fingers crossed for them tonight.

I was very happy that the CC Sabathia (sp?) got used and abused by the Phillies on Thursday night. They talk about this guy like he is a god, so it was nice to see him get taken down a few pegs. Especially when he served up the first grand slam in Phillies' post-season history.

Of course the Phillies lost tonight, the other half is beside himself. He just vowed not to watch the game tomorrow. He will be watching it in the other room as I write my paper for class.

Loving the Rays - White Sox series. It is about time that the Rays get some respect in a division that is always dominated by the Yankees and/or Red Sox. Evan Longoria was amazing in Game 1!

And the Red Sox are all over the Angels. Although I hate J.D. Drew, he did hit a clutch HR to win Game 2.

    Happy baseball viewing everyone!

I didn't see the first few innings of the Philies/Brewers, but it was great to see the Brewers win. It was their first post-season win since 1982.

    Why don't you like Sabathia?

Congrats on the win. I understand the feeling - it seemed like forever between 1993 and 2007.

He is a really great pitcher, he has been consistent over his career. I think my problem comes from a slightly skewed perception of the god complex by having spent too much time in the Yankees media market. Barf. And perhaps the wish that we had a single pitcher that was as reliable. Jamie Moyer is old enough to be my father and Cole Hamels is just getting his feet under him.

I think Thursday night's game is a prime example of how teams need to have more than one or two solid pitchers in their starting rotations. Because Sabathia and Sheets were their really good starters, the Brewers need to rely on Sabathia a little bit more because Sheets is on the DL. Thus, Sabathia pitched with little rest and his pitch count was so high in the 4th inning, that he got pulled. Not that he could not have gotten himself out of jams, but the Brewers needed to hold him back in case of a Game 5.

Apparently he is pitching tomorrow, although I have also seen Suppan listed as the starting pitcher.
