I have a friend who is holding a Opening Ceremony watching party on Friday. If I can get my car out of the parking lot, I plan on going. I have to figure out an international food to bring.

We always watch - doesn't really matter what sport it is though I like the women's figure skating.

We're finally getting the satellite installed right now, but I'm hoping to be watching in the hospital. I'm willing to sacrifice the big screen for Ms. Tardy's appearance.

          YEEESSSSS-

In fact I plan to be working from home a LOT over the next two weeks- I can do my medical records audits (LOVE electronic medical records!) from the comfort of my home in my jammies. and not-so-accidentally have the Olympics on.

I used to have one of those 'Watchman' TVs that I'd bring to work to watch the Olympics in my office- but since there's no such thing as analog tv anymore, I guess it's just another obsolete TV!

We'll watch whenever possible, however the time difference and poor tv coverage (the UK is about as good at winter sports as Iceland is at summer sports and their level of interest in the olympics reflects this) will probably severely restrict the opportunities to do so.

I noticed the Germans ended up in the same group as Sweden for the ice hockey. Best of luck to them there.

Sigh. In light of my failed attempt to actually get to the Games, I will be watching on TV. And DVRing a lot, I suspect.

I wonder if I would get in trouble if I switched the office TV away from public access and onto NBC...

I got a cute hat and scarf set from the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs that I've been wearing this week.

and let me just throw out there that the Americans are ranked higher than ever for Bobsled... We have a brawny young Texan on the team.

I feel so bad for the Georgia team. I can't imagine the heartbreak.

Just watched Alpine skiing with DD, age 4. She told me that we'll meet Lindsay Vonn next year because she's going to be DD's ski instructor. Then, they will be on the same team next time for the Olympics. Before the Olympics even began, DD said she wanted to be the fastest ice skater when she grew up. So, I asked her what happened to that idea. Not to worry - she's going to do all "three" - skiing, skating, and snowboarding. I guess we've got Olympic fever in our house!
