  • College Football: Week 1

    Baylor already beat #14 TCU!

Hoping to watch OU vs. Tulsa tonight. I'm hoping we don't get in trouble with the curse of being #1! I'm a little pissed at OU's prez for making statements last night that will make it even harder for the Big 12 to stay together...but even more annoyed at A&M for starting it.

I'd post the pre-season rankings for Brandi, but I'm too lazy and feel they are pretty inconsequential anyway!

    YAY FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL!

We had our home opener on Thursday night. Beat up on a MEAC team, yawn. Spent more time tailgating and catching up with friends than I did actually watching the game.

Next Saturday we are @ UNC. This will be a huge test for our team, to see whether or not they are better than last year's 4-8 team or if this will be another rebuilding year.

Some of today's games look pretty good, mainly Oregon-LSU and BSU-Georgia. If I can remember, I might tune in and watch the Monday game of UMiami-Maryland. Want to see how they are handling all of the craziness down there in Coral Gables.

Annoyed that we had to play a stupid thursday night game so I couldn't go. But at least we kicked some major ass!

Sooooo happy TCU lost. I hate them. Haha I still have PTSD from the Rose Bowl.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

We beat Minnesota, but not well. Next week against Utah should be interesting.

ETA: DH is currently watching the Notre Dame game to eagerly root against them.

Well, we didn't look great against Montana State! I hope we were off and not geared up because of the opponent, but I'm a bit worried.

DH went to the Big House for our first game, but it got rained out in the 3rd quarter. And my father is a ND Law School alumni and hardcore about his ND football. I'm sure he's having a tough night...

Is that where you are? My father goes to the games all the time and I have great memories of visiting ND when I was little! DH however, has no interest in heading into South Bend. LOL

We live 10 minutes from ND and have tons of friends affiliated with the university so we end up with free tickets to tons of events.

And I totally get your DH's attitidude. Rooting against ND is just as popular here as rooting for them.

I bet! Today at the game DH picked up his Michigan vs ND shirt. The rivalry is right behind Ohio State and this year they play here!

                          Hooray for football!
My neighbor apparently likes LSU, as there is a huge inflatable Tiger in his yard.
                          Ugh, inflatable tiger.

Jayhawks WIN! Go Hawks. We don't expect to win a lot this year, a beloved past coach passed away this morning, and now it looks like our conference is on the rocks again so we'll take it!

OU won! I hope they can at least keep it up until we (hopefully) go to the Sept. 24th game against Mizzou.

My mother doesn't understand why football tickets will cost $60-$80! She was an Illini...
