Publix is the big grocery in Florida. They've been running an ad this Christmas that makes me all weepy. It features a medical resident! I've been looking for it on you tube so I can post it but I can't find it. Here's the set up:
He's been on-call for Christmas and is just ending his shift. Completes his final rounds looking scruffy and sleep deprived, all frumpled and stubbled in his blue scrubs. He's adorable and looks very much like our DHs look after a long night of taking care of people. He wishes his patients a happy holiday and leaves the hospital.
The streets are empty, he's the only passenger on the city bus. Everyone is celebrating the holidays with their families and he is all alone. As he enters his apartment building, he calls his mom on his cel phone. "Mom, I forgot to tell you to wish everyone a merry Christmas. I'm sorry I couldn't make it." She promises she will tell everyone and that they all understand.
He hangs up the phone, turns the key to his apartment, opens the door. . .and his mom, dad, and entire family are in his apartment, having decorated a tree and prepared a Christmas feast to enjoy with him.
See, I'm all weepy again!
