1. He is the smartest person I know.

2. He is an amateur connoisseur (is that an oxymoron?) of coffees and beers.

3. He has an almost embarassing love of video games (when I gave him his PlayStation 2 for Christmas last year, he hugged and said "I love you" to the GAME SYSTEM before hugging or saying "thank you" to me!). We now have the Nintendo 64, the Sega Dreamcast, and the Sony PS2; he is dropping hints that he would like an XBox too.

4. He has a 13-year-old sister (there is a 14-year difference between them) which makes for some interesting sibling dynamics!

5. He lost his father when he was a senior in high school (before we knew each other). I regret that I never got to meet him.

6. He was in the Pi Kappa Alpha (Pike) fraternity in college, same as his dad.

7. He pretended that he didn't know how to do the physics lab that we were assigned (in college) just to have an excuse to talk to me (I didn't find that out until much MUCH later). From that point on we were pretty much inseparable!

8. He is just as afraid of bugs and spiders as I am, but still manages to find the courage to deal with them because he knows how squeamish I can be!

9. He loves ESPN; "SportsCenter" is a pretty constant background in our house when he's home.

10. He is my best friend.

What a GREAT topic!!!

1. If Russ didn't go to medical school he would have been a general contractor. He loves building things and worked as an electrician through college. He built the headboard and bed frame that we use now when he was in high school!

2. His favorite movie is "Hunt for Red October" and has seen it too many times to count. He also has the whole collection of Star Trek movies and loves James Bond.

3. He has pretty blue eyes with the longest eyelashes! He used to cut them when he was a kid because he couldn't see!!! Lucky me ... my boys got the same lashes!!!

4. He was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado and really misses mountains and snow.

5. He has three older brothers and one younger sister who is five years younger than him. He is extremely protective of her.

6. His dad was diagnosed with melanoma when Russ was 7. The doctors told the family that it was terminal. His dad is still alive today and the family is very close because they lived life to the fullest thinking that it could end anytime.

7. Russ doesn't think he is very intelligent but he graduated Valedictorian from med. school! He would kill me if he knew I told anyone!

8. He served a 2-year LDS mission in Atlanta, Georgia.

9. He is fairly shy and asked me out on our first date two months in advance!!! He wanted to take me out on my birthday, which also happens to be his birthday too! Then when he discovered that our mother's have the same first name, we were both born three weeks past our due dates, and we had the same initials .... that it was fate!

10. He loves camping and even thinks that camping in snow caves is the best! Good thing we have four boys!

11. He has a great bass voice and sang and danced in jazz choir in high school. I had to mention that because no one ever believes it (I even have a hard time picturing it) because he doesn't like to draw attention to himself.
