This really underscores how very soft we have all become.

Eh...the bit is very funny, and not to over-analyze and make it not funny...but "soft"? Seems to me that's a matter of perspective. How far back do you want to go? People in the middle ages were "soft" compared to cavemen, no? The rate of change of "what we take for granted", technology-wise, has increased dramatically, for sure; things definitely don't stay the same for generations like they used to, but even then, things changed, just not quite as fast.

          Thanks for the link!

I'm with poky. It IS a funny bit and we should appreciate what we have, except . . . I'm always amazed at what UPS/FedEx does, every time I use them. It's kind of amazing that my package is going to be opened halfway across the country the very next morning. But . . . if my package doesn't arrive, yes I'm pissed! And I don't think it's because I'm a jerk, I think it's because I have people to answer to, too, and they aren't standing around marveling at their cell phones. I didn't invent the crazy-fast pace of modern life, I'm just trying to survive in it!
