Oh My - I just went to a new place for a haircut and I my hair is shorter now than it has been in years. I think I like it but I'm not sure. I'm hoping Jory won't notice!!!!!!! He likes my hair longer. It is chin length with layers. I would post a picture but I don't know how. I have a scanner but don't know how to use it, yikes.

My hair has gotten a lot shorter over the course of this year. It is chin length with bangs now, and it was below shoulder length in September. Let us know Jory's reaction! (and learn how to use your scanner! Do your daughters know how?)

I have had my hair short (except for one ill-fated attempt to grow it out in the mid-90's) since junior high.

The precipitating event was that my best friend was going to trim my hair and cut off far too much. Her mom was so mortified that she offered to take me to go get it professionally done! No biggie though, I learned to like to easy styling. I wasn't the one making us late every day of 8th grade trying to get the Farrah Fawcett curls perfect!!! Nope, I was ready and drinking coffee with her dad in the kitchen. (and I wonder why I'm short- coffee at 12!)

Chin length! Longer than mine! Sounds cute and modern! I think that once you go to shorter hair it's hard to go back to long hair! I've tried, but just can't do it--- it's so easy and fresh and clean feeling to have shorter hair...

Mine's short-short, like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby. And, strangely enough, my husband likes it like that. It used to be down to my cleavage, but I could never be bothered with doing anything to it and it looked awful.

My daughter said it looks fine, but she wants to make an appt for me at a fancy salon in NY for Mothers Day (I'll have to pay!!!) and get a really good cut. I'm thinking I just may do it. What the heck, I'm 45 years old and I never spend $$$$ on myself. I may let her make the appt, then spend the day in the city with Amy & Caroline.

That sounds awesome, Luanne, you should definitely do it. One thing I am having to face up to is that I am never going to have daughters to do stuff like that with, and I have to admit, it is a bitter pill for me to swallow! I love my boys, but I don't think they are ever going to be shopping buddies for me when they grow up.

BUT, with 3 boys you have pretty good odds of ending up with a daugher-in-law you can share those things with. That's what happened in my family--I'm the only girl and I have a great relationship with my mom, but I've just never been into the girly-girl stuff. My brother's wife, however, is completely girly and is close with my mom (but not as close as me ) and they enjoy sharing that common interest. It's nice. I never even realized how much my mom liked that stuff until my SIL came along.
