My husband just told me that a couple of 4th years he knew from his school were on an away rotation driving from California to Colorado and got into a terrible car accident. I'm not sure of the details but I know they hit a guardrail and the girl sitting in the passenger seat died upon impact. Her boyfriend who was driving is in the hospital undergoing surgery. I don't know these people but somehow this has really upset me. I think of all they have done, and how young they are... I guess it starts to put things in perspective. In a way, it made me and my husband re-evaluate how we spend our time. Its strange how a tragedy like this make you appreciate life.

That is horrible--a similar story happened to my husband's friends a few months ago and even though I barely knew them, I cried for a couple of weeks. It is sad to think about all the things they will never get to do and experience...It does make you appreciate being alive, doesn't it?Awake is the new sleep!
