    Those comments are for real.

    Sad but true.

We have kids willing to kill for Nikes. Sad thing-- my dd's peer group is really into Nike Jordan's and most of them don't even realize he played basketball. I'm not even kidding. And hardly any of them have seen the clips of what an amazing player he was. Yet they are willing to kill each other over these shoes.

And dd got a north face for Christmas. It didn't fit (a little too big) So we went to exchange it. All they had was the green, which I really like, and she got it, but her BFF made fun of her bc it's green, not black, so now dd doesn't even want to wear it.

Wth is wrong with these kids. They are seriously WAY more materialistic than my generation. Seriously.

I told dd she can have an iPhone when she can pay for it, and pay the monthly data plan.

That being said... I think an iPhone is a reasonable gift for some teens-- especially college aged. I dont like the super expensive gifts for kids. Most of my ds10 and dd10's friends got new iPod touches--- those are at least 200$ gifts. Craziness. We do not live in a wealthy area!!!!

I don't have a problem with kids getting nice gifts so long as the little fartknockers appreciate them.

We gave DD2 her first iPod this Christmas and you would have thought we'd given her the moon. It's a tiny Nano, but it's orange (her favorite), has a clip so she won't lose it when she's running, and has a touch screen. She loves that damn thing and treats it as if it were made of gold and dispensed rainbow-colored unicorns. She got it because she's one hell of a good kid who doesn't really ask for much and goes out of her way to help others.

If any of my kids were to EVER consider making the comments on that page, they'd be disowned and paying their own way for EVERYTHING. Those kids on that page are some ungrateful little assholes.

Seriously. At work we had one of those giving tree things when underprivileged kids ask for a gift, and we buy it for them. My coworker got a 16-year-old boy who asked for shampoo and deodorant. Breaks my heart and pisses that some kid is asking for toiletries as a gift and these asswipes are complaining that their already generous gifts aren't enough.
I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Oh damn, I feel like a *chit* sharing this two days later. It didn't take youtube long to catch on to these folks.
