I'm 38 and don't regret having had our kids in my 20s, at all. I was probably a little young (for me) with DD1, but I'm really enjoying this time in their lives while I still have the energy to do so.

And truly, the toddler years are the hardest in terms of parental exhaustion. It gets better. Promise.

      • I'm so glad we had our girls in my early 20s. I'm younger than most of their friends' moms, but it doesn't matter. We're all moms of teenagers and I'll be the older mom when we have our next one.

        • I'd like to be done with "herding cats" (aka raising toddlers) by my early 30s.
It looks like I will make my "done birthing by 30" goal.

Deo Volente, we'll see how things go this fall.

The roof guy is here, drawing up my estimate. It's taking quite a while. I'm very worried...

          • Today, I didn't not kill any of my offspring, intentionally.

Sophie has well and truly entered the f'ing fours. Today, while running errands, she insisted on not wearing her coat. It was 27 degrees. I insisted that SHE carry her coat so I didn't look like an asshole. She insisted it was warm out.

Then, once home, she proceeded to cry most of the evening over a variety of things. Most of them imaginary. The only legit one in the bunch was that we ran into one of her classmates from her previous daycare and she realized that she misses her old friends. That one is very hard. The kids bickering over who gets which plate? They both got sent to their rooms for that.

I am just completely over Caleb's need to be right and Sophie's need to be, well, right.

All I want is quiet so I can finish a thought. Just one.

            • Today my boy ran amok around the house because I didn't have a voice to stop him.

              • Are you still not feeling any better, V? If it makes you feel any better, both of mine were running amok even though I most definitely have my voice.

                • I'm better than I've been in a week. I was able to drive the girls to dance and then stopped at Hobby Lobby. DH was with me just in case.

Not sure I would agree. I had mine in my 30's. I SO enjoyed my twenties and felt so free to do what I wanted to do while he did med school/residency. It was SO nice not to have the struggle of raising kids by myself without him being involved. But yes, on the other hand the people my age are enjoying the empty nest while I still have some in elementary school... Guess you just have to decide which way you want it. There are pros and cons to both..

Any specific name or brand of mattress?

In that case, maybe I should revise my prior statement to be either have your babies or finish med school/residency in your 20s. I'm doing both in my late 30s and I'm So. Damn. Tired. All. The. Time.

                            • Today was awful. I worked on a take-home test all day. My brain is fried. I had another a few days ago and have been studying for a whole week to the point words have almost lost all meaning.
