I'm so glad you both are alright -- I thought about y'all this morning when I heard the news.

Today I'm painfully reminded that there are some seriously fucked up people in this world.

LOL, I had to laugh at this. When DH was on his period last week he had a complete meltdown over cantaloupe.

He was apparently a student at the med campus until about a month ago. Working on a PhD in neuroscience. Which will probably prove to be ironic.

(Sorry for the thread hijack, here. I'm processing.)

Me too J, it is surreal. I've already talked to a coworker whose son was in the theatre (he's fine) but it touches everyone. Everyone keeps asking if DH knew him (I don't know, he's in the OR and I'm not texting with that question) but this will rock the med school community, they are an extremely close-knit bunch and this is devastating. This is unreal.

            • It sounds like he was a graduate student, not a med student. I'll have to have DH reach out to his friend. A very good friend of his is in the neuroscience department there, I'll be amazed if he didn't know him. Very very sad for all that were there.

              • Today, I too am saddened by senseless violence (both here, and abroad).

Today, my sister-in-law-to-be is dining with us at our house for dinner. (She's an MS3, so we are glad to feed her).

Today, my son told me "Dnoh?" (No).

                • Today R seems to have lost the ability to transfer from falling asleep in the car to his bed for nap - today was the 2nd time this week that he has woken up almost immediately upon me putting him in his bed - ACK!!

Today I am in Chicago and don't know what to do!! A week here with little to no plans. Sigh.

                        • Today we're having a housefull of people! My parents, my sister, her boyfriend's two daughters, and my cousin and her family are coming over. I'm so excited to see everyone, but I need to start cleaning...

Today DH and I are going out on a date to see Batman. It makes me so sad to think about all the people who were excitedly going out for a fun time like we will be when that awful man took their lives.

                          • Today I am looking at the calendar trying to find a weekend we can FINALLY have a house warming party and invite all of our old friends over. With house projects, call, trips, season KU football tickets and other family commitments we are all booked up through October! An early November inside/outside party doesn't really sound like a good idea given the crazy weather we have had, crap!

                            • I've been neglecting this thread, but really like the idea.

Today, I am tired of being a single mom. Dh and I have seen each other for a total of 30 hours (including sleep time) in the last three weeks. He comes home tomorrow night, and it can't come soon enough.
Today, the kids and I are going to a birthday party at MyGym, so I will get a great break!
Today, I am skipping the farmers market because I'm too worn out to deal with the kids in an uncontrolled environment.

                              • Today I used the new oven and it stunk up the whole house. Hopefully that was a first use only thing because yuck :-p

Today it's raining. Again. I think this is day 14 in this streak.

Today is DHs day off. He had bacon and eggs for breakfast and he's been watching golf all morning. I don't anticipate him doing much more than that for the rest of the day
