Today I sent an email to the president of the volunteer organization I work with and some key board members that made me simultaneously anxious and proud. I feel as though I've been taken advantage of by them on more than one occassion but this time they went too far in undermining my contributions by promoting another volunteer's business over mine when I've done easily 40x the amount of work she's done. So I finally stood up for myself and called them out on their bullshit. I'm an extremely non-confrontational person so if I call someone out then it's serious. I was professional about it but I get the feeling these people tend more towards drama than professionalism so I'm curious to see how they'll respond. I may not have a position there next week, lol.Wife of a surgical fellow; Mom to a busy toddler girl and 5 furballs (2 cats, 3 dogs)

DS(3) is on his first field trip with daycare today to a pumpkin patch. DH and I almost didn't let him go because we are so freaked out by all the things that could go wrong and we are not good at giving up control. Hopefully he stays safe and has a great time. I'm going to be a mess when the poor kid goes off to college.Wife of Anesthesiology Resident

Today, I'm on a date with my 3yo. We've been walking around a sculpture garden for the last hour. The weather is beautiful and the company is great. Dream date teaching my son about something that I love.

Today has become a whirlwind! My parents were going to come visit, but MIL called this morning, and she is in the hospital. She is having some issues with her heart, but we won't get much more info until tomorrow because it's a rural hospital that only has a cardiologist on Tuesdays. DH is post call, so he got off early, and we're taking the kids to my parents and going to see her in the hospital. We're hoping she can get transferred to the hospital in our town and be seen sooner, but who knows. Prayers/good thoughts appreciated! She is stable, and I've talked to her a few times this morning. She's definitely having trouble breathing, and she didn't sleep any last night.Laurie
My team: DH (anesthesiologist), DS (9), DD (8)
