Yes! I used to find watching someone else's kid completely wiped me out, even for a few hours. You're much more at ease with your own, so it's less mentally exhausting!

Today, I got to know another mom from school a bit better and I really like her. She is going through a divorce and we live fairly close to each other! I am so excited to have another friend! (How pathetic does that sound?)

Kris I don't think that is pathetic at all - today the K moms went out for coffee and I finally got a chance to chat with a few that I didn't know. I feel like it helps me when people find out we've only lived here for a year+ and that we're not "locals".

Today, I started the process of switching the kids' school. Common Core can kiss my ass. We are very lucky to have the option to do so.
Today, I also ate too much Halloween candy. I don't even like Halloween candy.
Today, I got my quilt from HoW's mom!! It's beautiful! I'll post some pics in the morning. DD was so excited for it, and insisted that her and grandma have a "picnic" on it

Feeling a little sentimental tonight - a year ago today, my husband and I had just confirmed that we lost our baby, and I was scheduled for a D&C the next day. He had to leave for a residency interview, so my mom came to stay with me. I remember handing out candy to all the little kiddos, and while it cheered me up some to see them all dressed up and cute, it was so hard too. This year we've moved closer to my parents, my husband is in a great residency program (and actually home and awake tonight), and we're expecting our baby girl in the next month. What a crazy year!

Today dh and Zef (puppy) were attacked by neighbors dogs on the next block. Dh didn't get bitten but Zef did. Poor puppy has a deep puncture and a hard scratch. Zef was so freaked he crapped himself during the incident. Zef was on a leash and they were biking/running in the street when two big dogs came running at them. Can you call animal control for your pet being attacked? If the puncture was any larger he would need stitches.

Oh no! And yes you should definitely call - do you know who the dogs belong to?
I would call, they could be a danger to other dogs, kids, and people. Dog bites are unacceptable. Poor Zef! Also - you might want to make sure that the biter is up-to-date on rabies vax.
Dh said he would wash it out. He knows wound care. We do know whose dogs they are. They came running out of a fenced yard that was open. The owner was there and couldn't care less. Said the dogs got out due to yard people with a shrug. We have met her (owner) before and she seemed nice. We walk by that house often as its on the corner. There are always dogs barking wildly behind the fence.
Dh has had such bad luck with neighbor dogs. Last spring he was bitten by a dog in our old neighborhood.
