Why my crap was green (thanks black icing).

That regardless of what DD does or I do as a mom, it's perfectly normal (short of grape soda in the bottle).

What my boundaries are in a medical relationship.

There are people who are as dirty minded as me.

These same people are also so very kind, generous, and giving.

Medicine makes people retarded assholes sometimes and we are doing important humanitarian work by being the tour guides of normalcy to the socially stupid.

Great topic, I was just thinking about this! I have learned, or at least a general concept has been reinforced:

                      1) How to make shredded chicken with only a crockpot, salsa, and chicken broth! (Seriously, where was I in home ec?)

                      2) I have totally been flattering myself to think that I have some sort of special corner on the market for control freak tendencies. (Seriously, group therapy?)

                      3) When unloading the dishwasher, I should sort the dishes on the counter before placing them in the cabinets to save time.

                      4) The curriculum entitled Everyday Math is one to be avoided if possible.

                      5) pediatric cough medicine is verbotten for little babies.

                      6) People can have made mistakes, wrong turns, and bad choices and still turn out o.k. You really can't predict an outcome by any one static moment.

                      7) Marriage and parenting is hard for everyone. Do NOT believe the Christmas letters and compare yourself. Having a Hell-come-to-Jesus isn't necessarily indicative of a bad marriage. In fact, sometimes it means you have the faith in the marriage to fight.

                      8) Medicine, and specifically academic medicine, has a dark, seedy underbelly. It is no more or less noble than other professions.
In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

                          - That that are people out there who appreciate my "eccentricities".

                          - That there are people on this planet who don't annoy the ever-loving fuck out of me.

                          - That I can consider people I've never met IRL to be some of my favorite people and good friends.

TigerLily, I'm gonna need to see the thread that dealt with this! I can't get over the ick factor.

                              - That I'm not the only one in this crazy situation. No matter how shitty and isolated I might feel today, there's someone else halfway across the country feeling exactly the same way, and there's a wonderful venue here to connect us.
